Excellent capture of the ’83 band. I’ve never been sure about this iteration of the group doing Hex era stuff – it seems to miss the extra guitar or keyboards somehow – however the readings of Classical, Backdrop and CB are more than competent on this occasion in a stripped down mind boggling sort of way. The latter is particularly good with the group teetering on the edge of a manic rate of play taking it at a fast pace. MES improvises replacing “Smash Hits” with a New York periodical.

Great funky version of Hex-Strife where the two drummers underplay the beat to great effect.

MES very clear throughout.
